This is a common refrain: I don’t have anyone to talk to.

When individuals are struggling with alcoholism, depression, addiction or trauma, they often feel isolated with nowhere or no one to turn to. This trend happens a lot more than you know.

Keep in mind that more than 32 million Americans are illegal drug users and an additional 15 million struggle with alcohol use disorder. Together, that’s 47 million Americans, approximately 14 percent of the total population. This doesn’t account for the 20 percent of Americans who are suffering from a mental illness

Why are so many people struggling? That’s a big question. There are a number of different risk factors. The more common seem to be family history, mental health disorders, peer pressure, early exposure to drugs, and/or physical or sexual abuse.

Despite all of this, there is always someone to turn to, to talk to. At Union First, we offer 24/7 chat support on our site – www.unionfirst.net –  and at 1-855-215-2023

Always remember that it’s our job to protect yours.
